Beleaguered by her destructive past, the warrior princess Xena heads home to Amphipolis, hoping to reconcile with her family by warning them about an imminent attack from Draco, a vicious warlord and her former lover. Everyone, including her mother Cyrene, shuns Xena, except for a young woman named Gabrielle who decides to follow the warrior princess on her adventures. The only way Xena can restore herself to the good graces of the town and her family is to defeat Draco in hand-to-hand combat. Although Xena is victorious, Draco escapes, somewhat worse for wear, leaving her to begin healing the rifts in her family.
